Saudi Arabia's Council of Ministers convened in Jeddah on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and issued a formal condemnation of Iranian attacks targeting Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, Oman and Jordan, as well as commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
The cabinet characterized Iran's conduct as a sustained violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, and called on the international community to hold Tehran accountable.
Washington Coordination
Ministers were briefed on a direct call between Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and US President Donald Trump, during which the two leaders reviewed bilateral cooperation and reaffirmed joint support for regional security. The coordination signal was deliberate: Riyadh was establishing that its response operates within a confirmed alliance framework.
The Iraqi Commitment
The cabinet formally welcomed Baghdad's commitment not to allow Iraqi territory or airspace to be used for actions targeting Saudi Arabia or GCC states - closing a geographic flanking route of prior concern.
Foreign Ministry Calls
Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held calls with counterparts in Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, coordinating a unified regional response.
"The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expresses its condemnation and strongest denunciation of Iran's continued destabilizing conduct, which undermines the security and stability of the region and violates the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations."
